Steve Borucki, President
As President of OFFSITE, Steve is responsible for the facility, infrastructure and operational aspects of our tier III designed data center. He coordinates the construction, maintenance, testing and management of all power, cooling and connectivity functions of our operations. Steve is accountable for ensuring OFFSITE can meet or exceed the service level agreements (SLAs) with our customers. He also leads a world-class team of facility data center experts and manages a portfolio of key service partners and is on the cutting edge of best practices in data center technologies and implementations. Steve is also one of two founders of OFFSITE, sits on the Board of Managers and has worked for the company since 2001.
Steve has been an innovator in the design and construction of OFFSITE data center operations. Since OFFSITE believes that IT professionals deserve the highest quality experience in private cloud computing and data center services, Steve’s work brings this differentiated experience to life for our customers through our facilities.
Steve spent the first 15 years of his professional career in the financial services sector with the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). The bulk of Steve’s trading career at the CBOT was in the 30-Year US Treasury Bond market, however he also traded in DOW futures and other commodities and financial instruments. He attended and completed studies at Loyola University – Chicago.
Jim Chiampas, CFO
As Chief Financial Officer, Jim oversees the accounting and finance operations of the company and also holds the role of Chief Compliance Officer. Jim brings unique perspective to the OFFSITE leadership team. Jim has a quarter century of experience transforming, managing and motivating in the public, academic and private sectors.
Jim started his career in product design and development for Motorola; he then moved on to senior operational and financial positions at the Robert Bosch Group and KPMG. In 2006, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Chicago Park District. Under Jim's direction, the Park District celebrated a financial turnaround of its $390 million operating budget through effective debt management, investments, budgeting and savvy cash strategy. Jim was later recruited by The University of Chicago to be part of the startup team the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics.
Jim holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, a Masters in Computer Engineering from National Technical University and a BSEE in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Illinois Institute of Technology.
Tony Portee, CTO
In the role of Chief Technology Officer for OFFSITE, Tony manages the day-to-day operations in our Network Operations Center (NOC) and guides all technology decisions and systems associated with supporting the OFFSITE private cloud services and the operations of our tier III designed data center. Tony engineers the IT architecture and implements and oversees the management of core infrastructure for the company. He has built and manages a world-class NOC staff, providing enterprise support to our mid market customers. He also serves a key role for the business in designing sales engineering solutions for our customers.
Tony served in active duty with the US Marines from 1999-2003 and began his career in IT with the US Marines in 2002 while serving duty in the Embassy Guard. He was stationed and selected for duty domestically and abroad, including assignments in Germany and St, Petersburg, Russia for a nearly year period of his active duty.
Prior to joining OFFSITE, Tony worked in roles of increasing responsibility with Platinum Systems. Starting in the role of technician, he was promoted to management, as Chief Network Engineer. While at Platinum Systems, Tony managed advanced project configurations and management and training of technical staff.
Tony holds several senior technical certifications leading IT manufacturers including Microsoft, Cisco, Veeam, VMWare and Extreme Networks.
